Walk-ins

This centre operates on an appointment basis. Walk-ins are accepted, however there may be an unavoidable wait as priority is given to patients who have a booked appointment with their GP.

Our medical centre operates on an appointment basis. Our appointment system caters for urgent, non-urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventative healthcare.

If you need more time with your GP, please arrange an extended consultation when booking your appointment. Please advise reception staff if you have more than one issue to discuss so the appropriate consultation time can be booked.

Urgent appointments will be seen by the next available GP. Please advise reception if you believe you require an urgent appointment. Urgent appointments will be triaged by the nurse on duty.

If you are a regular patient, telehealth services may be available. Telehealth services are at the discretion of your GP. Please contact the practice for more information.

At times you may experience a waiting period due to GPs tending to urgent or complex medical issues. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

After Hours Healthcare is provided by Hello Home Doctor on 134 100.

After Hours service is Hello Doctor access from 8pm – 8am Hello Home Doctor

Depending on circumstances and considering the safety of all, nursing home and home visits may be provided to patients. Visits must take place during clinic hours and are at the discretion of the individual GP. If a home visit isn’t appropriate, a telephone consultation may be offered as an alternative.

For patients with language difficulties a telephone translator service can be arrange on 131 450. For patients with hearing difficulties an Auslan interpretors can be arranged on 1300 287 526. Please advise the receptionist if you think this might be needed.

Payment is required on the day of the consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card (excluding Diners and AMEX cards). Workers compensation patients must provide a claim number each time they present for a consultation.

Test results must be completed during a consultation with your GP. Only in rare cases can test results be done over the phone, at your GPs discretion.

You must make an appointment to get a medical certificate and, we regret they cannot be backdated.

Our practice values your privacy. At times, we may email you from our secure email system or practice software. You may also receive SMS messages if you have opted-in to receive them. Please note, to protect your personal information, we are unable to accept email communication from patients.

We may contact you about your results or for a follow up appointment via SMS, phone and/or letters.

It is important to note that when we contact you via SMS or letter, we are doing so via our practice software systems. If a message includes the words “clinically significant”, please do not be alarmed. This means that your doctor has determined that it is important for you to return to see them in a timely manner.

To ensure we can contact you about your results or appointments, please advise our reception teams that you would like to opt-in to receive SMS communications and don’t forget to let us know if any of your contact information has changed.

Your Hobart Doctor

Welcome to the main hub of GP Collective and where it all started.  Our Directors wanted to integrate General Practice with Pharmacy and Allied Health.  This is where we have set up a Practice with Your Hobart Doctor and Blooms the Chemist, Hobart all under one Management team.  Pharmacy has easy access to the General Practitioners and vice versa.  This, in turns provides easy access for patients to receive the healthcare  that they need in the one location.  Your Hobart Doctor also has Radiology, Physiotherapy and Pathology on site with  the support of regular visits for Echo Cardiograms.

Extended Hours Available

The Practice has an extended hours service, capturing the patients that need care after 6pm and at time through to 11pm and open on the weekends and Public holidays (Please refer to doctors availability on HOTDOC’s).

Your Hobart Doctor is also the site for Hobart’s first Medicare Urgent Care Clinic. This is where our Doctor can see Urgent patients that are not emergencies. This idea is to keep those patients from having to visit the Royal Hobart Hospital and treated offsite. Having x-ray to image chests and extremities has been critical in offering a full treatment service.

Our History

71 Bathurst Street, Hobart, is rich in history. One of its earliest occupants was H.C. Heathorn, known for showcasing the finest Morris Minors. Later, it became home to the beloved toy shop, Bridges Brothers. However, on January 19, 2013, the Bridges Brothers building was tragically set ablaze, leaving only its façade standing. Today, we honour the legacy of this remarkable heritage site.
